VNV is a Jazz Group comprised of 3-6 members, with the core revolving around Vern Neeley on saxophones and vocals, Tara Neeley on vocals, Kathryn Ballard Shut on piano, Mark Brostrom on bass, and “Jim Jamm” Jimmy Kolodziej on percussion and guitar.

Our music is based in the tradition and style of some of the greatest musicians of all time, like Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Horace Silver, Coleman Hawkins, Grover Washington Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Michael Bublé.

Vern has been performing professionally for nearly 30 years, sharing the stage with legends such as Arturo Sandoval, Jack Jones, Dianne Schuur, Lou Rawls, Louis Bellson, and Clark Terry, just to name a few. Vern has been collaborating with Relentless recording artist Jimmy Kolodziej of Jim Jamm Jimmy for the past 5 years and has recorded two full length albums with JJJ, #1 Contender and Bad Influence (Live and Off Color).

Currently, the VNV can be heard all around Denver and the metro area. Recent performances include Odyssey Beerwerks and Arvada Tavern in Arvada, as well as City Star Brewing in Berthoud.
