We do clean up nicely when it's time for a formal. We've performed at hundreds of weddings, corporate affairs, galas and fundraisers. Whether in jeans or a tux, we fit the bill, and rock the house appropriately. Check out our music page to see and hear the Bassboards live.
Have favorite songs and artists? We'll play them, because we can! We cover pretty much everyone. But this couple found a sweet spot when they requested Springsteen's Roslita as their entrance song. And we timed it to introduce them just as the guitar lift ended and the memorable horn break began. It was thrilling, as was the endless conga line that broke out during "Let's Get Loud" by J-Lo. So, yes, we take requests. And play them flawlessly.
"Do you guys do Earth Wind and Fire?" Check. "Ohio Players?" Check. "Stevie Wonder?" Double check. "George Clinton?" Yes, we've got the funk. "Cool. This is our Frat Formal, and we want dance music." He came to the right place. The Bassboards, a band of 'veteran' musicians, rocked the house for a group University of Pennsylvania juniors and seniors at Philadelphia's swanky Hotel Monaco.
“I hired the BassBoards to perform at a formal gala because they're a versatile band. They started the evening with a jazz quartet during cocktails. Then they added singers and horns and fired up the crowd with dance and rock music. They're a talented, high-energy band and were truly the life of the party.” — Mitch V.

Military people not only stand up for our country. They get down for the boogie, as shown here when we played "Shout" by the Isley Brothers. These Naval officers followed orders when we sang, "A little bit lower, now." And when we performed Toto's "Africa" at the bride's request, the troops stormed the floor and sang along at the top of their lungs. We were proud to be part of an amazing wedding, for a wonderful service family.
“I hired the Bassboards for a fraternity formal on short notice and they were incredible! They had everyone dancing the entire time. I will definitely hire them again for my next event.” — Torey K.

This gala was held to honor the past presidents of a thriving Jewish Community Center in New Jersey. Dinner, speeches, and some light jazz in banquet hall, we were told. Then someone shouted "Honky Tonk Woman!" We got the hint, cranked up some Stones, and then added "Play that Funky Music", "Oh What a Night", "Brick House" and "Walk this Way." We rocked the Temple for the next two hours. And the congregation danced the night away.
