"Laid-back announcements; cranked-up dance floor & always trying to make you hear music differently" is how Kelvon describes the perfect wedding.

Initially drawn to DJing through his love for all types of hip-hop and high-energy dance music, Kelvon has developed a style that is easygoing and relational — but never mellow.

“I think of music as therapy,” Kelvon says. “My job is to use it to make other people happy.”

Having grown up in the early 90’s, Kelvon couldn’t help but become a fan of hip-hop. But as he matured he explored deep into other genres such as funk (James Brown), rock (Korn), and house music. Today this translates into DJ sets that span a wide variety of genres. Kelvon’s happy serving every couple, but his favorite weddings are the ones where guests are really looking to pick up the tempo and pack out the dance floor. “You do need some slowdances,” he admits, “but I really love see the place move. That’s just my style.”

When he’s not filling dance floors, you can usually find Kelvon continuing to sharpen his skills at places like Scratch Academy Chicago or one of of the cruise ships at Navy Pier.
