One mandolin, one guitar; fourteen strings of possibilities in the new acoustic duo of String 14, formed in the partnership of Gilbert Yslas and Mike Barrs from Port Townsend, Washington. Drawing from sources that range from traditional Irish music through Blues and Jazz, Mike and Gilbert are developing their own fusion style for a mandolin/guitar duo. Additional instrumentation often includes Dobro slide guitar, Irish flute, and classical guitar.
