Seaglass Sound provides unique music for your special event. We specialize in small musical settings featuring violin and guitar, but have a wide network of musicians that can cover almost any musical setting. Need a flute or trumpet soloist for your wedding service? A jazz combo for your cocktail hour? A strolling dixieland band for your party? A klezmer band for your bar mitzvah? No problem! We can also offer resources for planning how music will fit into your special event.

Our Story

Seaglass Sound was started in 2014 by Joe Kessler and Tev Stevig. We have played together in a number of musical projects over the years, as founding members of Klezwoods, and in various pick up bands performing jazz, klezmer, rock, pop, and classical music. We wanted to offer a music service to corporate and event clients that was professional and provided fun, classy, and unique music. After 40 years of combined experience working in the wedding and event business as musicians for booking managers, we want to put all that experience to work in Seaglass Sound in order to provide a wide range of services to clients and high quality music to our clients' guests. We also just want to have fun playing music and we believe all those who hear Seaglass Sound perform will have fun too! Find out more about us below.

The Musicians

Tev Stevig is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, specializing in banjo (tenor and 5 string), ukulele, lap steel guitar, and a variety of other plucked string instruments. He performs with his solo/duo project called Jeni Jol, which incorporates elements of music from the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey in his original compositions and arrangements for clawhammer style fretless guitar. Tev also performs and records with Klezwoods, Ivo & the Wave Wranglers,The Polydaktylos Orkestra, Orkestra Marhaba, Hickory Strings, Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica, and CORDIS. His musical travels have brought him to the main stage at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Wassermuzik Festival in Berlin, the Apollonia Festival of Arts in Bulgaria, as well as many other music venues in North America and Europe. He has a degree in jazz guitar performance from Berklee College of Music, having studied with Mick Goodrick, Hal Crook, Rick Peckham, Jon Damien, and Brett Willmott. The New York Music Daily calls Stevig "one of the world’s most brilliantly individualistic guitarists," and The Boston Globe says he "initiates something genuinely new by connecting and combining seemingly disparate musical cultures." His debut solo album Jeni Jol: Music of the Balkans, Greece and Turkey was named one of the top releases of 2013 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Tev teaches privately in the Boston area at Berklee College of Music's City Music Program, Passim School of Music, the Lexington Montessori, and is the Guitar Chair at Powers Music School in Belmont, MA.
