Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! And in South Orange County he is Santa Ed Howie.

A real bearded Santa, Ed has been a professional Santa Claus for 17 years. He is a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas and has a degree from the University of Santa Claus.

Santa Ed has been arriving on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving for 12 years as the headliner for San Clemente's Puttin on the Glitz.

Santa Ed has now teamed up with Mrs. Claus, who is happy to accompany him for your special event.

Delivering holiday cheer to corporate gatherings, company employee parties, and new product introductions, Santa Ed has also been the star attraction at 330+ family gatherings.

Santa is currently busy making his list and checking it twice.

Mrs. Claus (Jan) rides in the firetruck with Santa Ed, kicking off the Christmas Season in San Clemente at the annual "Puttin on the Glitz." Santa rides on top of the fire truck, but Mrs. Claus is more at home in the front seat with the driver.

After their arrival at the Community Center, Santa greets all children who want to visit with him. While the children are waiting in line to visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus talks to them answering their questions about the North Pole, Santa's Elves, and Santa's favorite cookies.

Santa Ed and Mrs. Claus are the distinguished guests at corporate employee parties, fundraisers, and their favorite charities. While Santa is always "the favorite", Mrs. Claus is content to be a "close second." When Santa Ed visits the shopping malls and listens to children's "wish list", Mrs. Claus helps organize the many children and parents waiting to meet Santa and get their picture taken. While it is quite the challenge to come up with answers for all the questions the children ask, Mrs. Claus enjoys the opportunity to do so.
