EXPERIENCE
First, Dr. Tunney is an educator with 30 years of experience as a teacher, coach, principal at three high schools, Superintendent of Schools, and member of the Board of Trustees at the high school and college level. In 2009 he was awarded the President's Award for outstanding service to Monterey Peninsula College as well as the Public Official of the Year.

Regarded as the "Dean of NFL Referees", Jim's 31-year NFL career has him nominated 12 times for the Pro Football (NFL) Hall of has been inducted into the California Coaches Hall of Fame as well as the Fairfax High School (L.A.) Hall of Fame.

Jim is also an author of such books as Impartial Judgment, Chicken Soup for the Sports Fan's Soul, and It's the Will not the Skill. He has written numerous articles including his weekly newspaper column The TunneySide of Sports which he shares on his blog www, and has written 2 books on the same "On the TunneySide of Sports"

A GIFTED SPEAKER

Jim is an accomplished speaker having won The Cavett Award, the "Oscar" of professional speaking. It is presented annually to the professional speaker whose career has earned "outstanding credit, respect, honor and admiration in the National Speakers Association and the speaking profession."

A past president of the National Speakers Association, he is a charter member of its most prestigious group — the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame — and holds every professional designation of the NSA.

He has worked with major corporations and associations all over the world to build teams, set effective goals, and increase productivity.

In 1993, he founded the Jim Tunney Youth Foundation which supports community programs that work with youth to develop leadeship, work skills, wellness and e self esteem. In 2016 the National Philanthropic Day awarded the founation with the Philanthropic Foundation of the Year in Monterey County (CA.).
