Horse Play Game Show
Something NEW, UNIQUE and completely different
HORSE PLAY Game Show
with Ron MacCloskey
The Game Show That's A Real Horserace
"It's Jeopardy For Stupid People"
3 players (horses) are on a racetrack - 8 furlongs in length. They have to answer multiple choice questions in 6 categories:
Including: Entertainment, Pop Culture, History, Sports, Current Events
Horse Play takes place in Griffin Downs. Each game can be customized with trivia questions, to fit a location; hotel, casino, restaurant, attraction, charity function etc. Even the questions can be about the company's officers, menu item, owners etc.
Each group of questions are divided into 2 groups. One is called "ODDS ON" and the other is "EVEN UP". A player elects which group to pick from. This eliminates the chance of someone getting an easy or difficult questions. The player picks it, not the host. Also, switching between the 2 groups gives the player a better chance of finding the DARK HORSE question**. The Dark Horse, when answered correctly, benefits the player by moving 2 spaces instead of just one and benefits his cheering section.
Each space (furlong) is worth 10 points. The player with the highest point total at the end of 2 full races goes on to the WINNER'S CIRCLE. Once there, they must answer 4 consecutive questions to win the Grand Prize. All questions throughout the game are multiple choice, except at the Winner's Circle.
The host and creator of Horse Play is Ron MacCloskey. Mr. MacCloskey started his show business career in the Catskill Mountains, first as a social staff member, later as a stand-up comedian. He later toured Europe and the Caribbean Islands with Carnivale Cruise lines as Assistant Cruise Director. In 1977 he joined The Al Jolson Revue, a vaudeville show, as a character actor and Groucho Marx impersonator. Mr. MacCloskey joined the Clyde Beatty/Cole Brothers circus as a clown before landing his own cable TV show in Wildwood, New Jersey.
