Welcome to the enchanting world of "Happy Hans' Music," where we specialize in delivering the authentic sounds of German and Austrian music, complete with the art of yodeling. Over the past three decades, the "Happy Hans" band has had the honor of gracing numerous special events throughout the Pacific Northwest, from weddings, anniversaries, and family reunions to lively birthday parties, club dances, and our much-anticipated specialty, "Oktoberfest."

Diving into the heart of tradition, our repertoire encompasses the lively Polka, the elegant Waltz, the spirited Schottische, and the soulful Slow Waltz. Of course, no celebration is complete without the infectious energy of the renowned "Chicken Dance." But that's not all – we love to infuse our performances with a mix of genres, from "Classic Country" to diverse "American Pop" hits, ensuring everyone, regardless of background, can join in the musical festivities.

At the forefront of our melodies is the soulful resonance of the "Button-Box" Accordion, accompanied by vocals, mandolin, and trumpet. "Happy Hans" himself, Hans Rainer, Jr., born in Seattle, leads the charge with his accordion mastery, trumpet prowess, and captivating singing and yodeling. Hans began sharing the stage with his father at the tender age of 11, bringing the timeless music of Germany and Austria to American audiences.

Joined by the talented Kory Tideman, a band member since 1997, we experience a harmonious blend of accordion, guitar, mandolin, and rich vocal harmonies. Kory's musical versatility spans various styles, but his true passion lies in the spirited rhythms of the Polka.

In 2007, Hans' youngest son, Erik Rainer, added his multi-instrumental talents to the mix, handling the drums, bass guitar, and baritone. His infectious enthusiasm has fueled the group's ever-expanding playlist. The rhythmic heartbeat of the band is further strengthened by Karl Rainer, Hans' oldest son, who joined in 2009, commanding the drums with a shared love for this distinctive style of music and the joy of playing as a united group.

Managing the beats and bookings is Monica Rainer, Hans' wife, an exceptional manager who takes pride in sharing the band's story and the accomplishments of "her boys."
