Gabriele Tranchina is musically at home in many styles. With a strong background in jazz, she moves between Jazz, Brazilian, Latin and World Fusion, making her a perfect crossover artist.

Gabriele has her roots in Germany, where she was born, but her love for other cultures inspired her extended travels throughout Europe and Asia.

These experiences bring a unique sensibility to her work, matching her one-of-a-kind voice. 

Settling in New York, Ms. Tranchina took advantage of its multi-cultural environment, giving her further inspiration for her work as an artist.

At the age 16, Gabriele was introduced to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chick Corea’s “Return to Forever” with singer Flora Purim, as well as Ella Fitzgerald.

As a performer, she still draws from those influences. In artists like Flora Purim, Ella Fitzgerald and Jobim, Gabriele found qualities that inhabit her very own: fearlessness, a connectedness to nature and beauty, joy, sophistication and exploration, backed by a solid technique.

She combines those many influences into her own brand of expression, expansively and freely, pouring her heart into each song, always with a clear point of view to communicate.

Gabriele’s ability to use rhythm, resting underneath her vocals, surges the music forward, keeping it alive in each moment. She is comfortable singing in German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and English, so a strong international influence is never far away.

Her vocals, which have been called “impressive,” “technically perfect,” and “just breathtaking,” caused jazz legend, Mark Murphy, to say “Gabriele sings like a bird and swings and swings until the cows come home.”

In recent years Gabriele’s recordings have covered jazz standards, Brazilian, Latin and world music as well as compositions, mostly penned by her husband, Joe Vincent Tranchina. Her CD’s have been received with abundant praise and have further established her as a singer of the highest order. Her band members are musicians who are as much respected by their peers as they are celebrated by the public.
