Durt Cheap
Durt Cheap plays classic country music and more, blending cover songs with original tunes. Audiences range from the actors at the Turner Broadcasting Company’s summer Press Tour party in Los Angeles to audiences at local wineries, vineyards, breweries, and private and public special events. We sing in three- and four-part harmonies and have a unique blend of guitars, mandolin, dobro, lap steel, bass and harmonica.
There are typically four members playing in the band, but we are flexible so as to be able to work as a trio or duo to meet your needs.

Mike Stenberg (Lead Guitar, Vocals):
Mike has been performing locally for decades. A native of Fargo, North Dakota, he has spent recent years with such Bay Area bands as Misbehavin’ and Bona Fide, as well as in solo performances. He loves all types of music (as long as it has a melody), but one of his favorites is classic country (with a tinge of bluegrass). He is happy to be performing country music with DURT CHEAP.
Rod Linn (Stand Up and Electric Bass, Vocals):
Rod has been playing guitar and bass most of his life. He enjoys many different styles of music, and has been seen through the years in bands such as the Hillbilly Buzzards, Stringin’ Along, Dawg Lips and the Scientific Jam Band. He also has been a regular with his church band, Praise Team, and has done studio work. He currently performs rock, as well as classic country with DURT CHEAP. When not doing music he is very involved in the community and the Brentwood Lions Club.
Jack Kline (Mandolin, Dobro and Harmonica; vocals):
Jack has been playing in various East Bay bands since the late 1980’s, covering country, country-rock, rock, blues and Americana styles. His primary instrument is guitar. Jack has expanded his musical expertise to include mandolin, dobro, and lap steel which he plays with DURT CHEAP, all while adding a little harmonica to the mix. In Jack’s “spare time” he works at meteorology.
