 I am DJ Travis Gales, a professional DJ with over 40 years of experience in the industry. I have always had a great appreciation and love for music as a youth, and I began playing and collecting music at 15 years old. As I continued to grow as a DJ, I began to recognize that my ear for music and desire to excel in perfecting my craft was much more significant than others in my high school peer group. 

My musical studies continued at the collegiate level as I marched into the North Carolina Central University band, learned about Live Sound Enhancement, and began DJing. My focus shifted from playing instruments to controlling the sound as time passed. It became apparent that DJing was my gift as I realized that my ability to connect with all types of people through my love for music was much easier than most. 

I am currently the morning show host on the radio station WNCU 90.7FM in Durham, NC. I host DJ for the annual Summertime 1st Friday Playlist Concert Series at Durham Central Park; I DJ all vinyl on the 4th Saturday at the Annexe Cocktail bar & Lounge in Durham, the Boxyard RTP Open Food Court, and host DJ Karaoke at the House Restaurant & Bar Monday Night in Durham, NC. 

My background as a musician has played a significant role in my appreciation for all genres of music and my growth as a professional DJ. After graduating with a degree in Music History, I earned an Associate in Radio Broadcasting from Central Carolina Community College. After graduation, I accepted a position with Raleigh FM radio station WQOK K97.5. As a radio personality. During my years working there, I developed my ability to speak on the mic confidently in front of large groups of people at concerts, festivals, school events, and corporate events. 

As a professional DJ, I have played for numerous nightclubs, bars, concerts, and corporate and private events. There is no more incredible feeling than to know that I can touch others just by doing what I love to do, playing music.
