Caricatures by Marlene
I don't just draw floating heads. Like you, I put personality into my caricature drawings, so they are situational and based upon what you're all about. I have a unique, family-friendly sense of humor and I like to work in color, but can go black & white for more speed. I can offer a variety of pre-printed bodies from my own personal library or I can offer a custom-drawn setting for a set fee.
With years of graphic art, illustration and teaching experience behind me, in addition to a love of writing and doing voice overs, I have been working as a consignment and party entertainment caricature artist for over 12 years, drawing thousands of faces. I have spent 2 years as the treasurer for the National Caricaturist Network and had 8 years on the board as treasurer of the Graphic Artists Guild of Chicago. (Apparently folks like to trust me with their money.)My career began out of college working in the graphics department of AT&T; I did some time as the artist/office manager of a small neighborhood print shop and finally, 5 years at a small advertising agency before hitting the freelance trail. From there, I did freelancing for such clients as Enesco Giftware, Roman, Inc. and Bradford Exchange and currently, Wilton Enterprises. Today, I still service an assortment of freelance clients, I love to write humor and am pursuing my love of voice overs, but most often bring my own brand of family friendly humor to my art, and as I like to say, I draw personalities, not faces.
