Billy who is originally from Detroit Mi, now living in LA, has performed with, opened for , or toured with Martha Reeves and the Van Dellas, The Four Tops, Robert Cray, Bobby Vinton, Michael Bolton, Stevie Wonder, Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Cristopher Cross, Vina Morales, The Village People, Hermans Hermits, Regina Carter, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Blue Bland, America, Jerry Vale, Paul Williams, Boz Scaggs, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Jennifer Holiday, The Turtles, The Original Coasters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Freddie Cannon, The Drifters, Louis Smith(Trumpet w/ Cannon Ball Adderly) , Norma Bell( Sax with Zappa, Mahavishu Orch.), Eddie Money, King Konga, and Edwin Mc Cain. He also performed a concert for political leader Nelson Mandella.
Bill is also an accomplished solo guitarist. His repertoire includes solo classical, jazz and pop/rock/r&b music. Also, Bill is an accomplished Vocalist. While living and performing in the Detroit area, Bill had two of Motowns Records best arrangers write 20 custom vocal/musical arrangements for a 17 piece big band to perform with Bill singing. Most of the arrangements were written By David Van Depitte. David Co-wrote and arranged Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" album in the late 1960s.
Bill was also lucky enough to be able to play with and learn from some of the greatest musicians to ever lay down tracks including Motown's famed Funk Brothers. Bill worked with funk brother alumni drummer Pistol Allen, Keyboardist Johnny Griffith and Trumpet Player Johnny Trudell These musicians are on some of the greatest pop music of the 20th century.
There's music in Billy's blood due to his musician father. Billy's dad Robert Lymperis is an accomplished Trumpet player living and playing in Detroit . Bob Lymperis was fortunate enough to have toured and recorded with the legend Stan Kenton Band in the Late 1940s. Bob is on all the old recording including Stan's theme song "Artistry in Rhythm", "Eager Beaver" and "Intermission Riff" just to name a few. Billy's dad also has performed with many national acts including Charlie "Yard bird" Parker, Miles Davis, Tony Bennett, George Shearing, Nate King Cole, Natalie Cole, Mel Torme, Louis Jordan, Louis Armstrong and many many others. Bob is also in a major film To Talk About a Lady featuring Forest Tucker.
Bill has an M.S. degree In CIS from The University of Detroit.
